It’s been a little while since we’ve seen each other, hasn’t it? I hope you’ve been keeping busy. I know that I have. Oh, and before you ask, the answer is yes. I’m still getting around to reading that script you sent me.
First of all, I want you to know that I’m honored that you chose to send your script to me. The stories that come out on the page can often be incredibly personal and difficult to share with the world and the fact that I get to see that makes me feel like I will know you on another level once I finally find some free time.
How long was it again? 92 pages? That’s a whole lot of pages to write. You should be proud of yourself. That’s an accomplishment in and of itself. I’m very excited to get started on it. The main reason I haven’t yet is because I want to make sure I can experience it all at once. I respect this kind of work and know that it can’t be experienced in small chunks, as is the way someone might read a book. Other people might be fine doing that, but not me.
Rest assured, it’s not that I don’t want to read it. I absolutely do. Some people don’t like to see other people’s work before it’s finished because it makes them feel like they’ve wasted their time, but that’s not what’s happening here. Life can just kind of get in the way of the things you’re really passionate about and throw you for a loop. Don’t you worry about a thing, though. I’ve always gotten myself back on track, and guess what’s right in the middle of that track? That’s right! Your script!
You know what? I’m going to make sure that it becomes my top priority. I’m adding it to my calendar right now. See right there? “Read script.” Now it has to happen.
