I heard that you could park in a yellow loading zone at some specific times in Los Angeles, which would be great, because parking sucks. Is it true? And if so, when can I park in a yellow zone?

Sincerely,

Yellow With Parking Envy

Dear Yellow with Parking Envy,

Never park in a Yellow Zone in LA.

Los Angeles City Ordinance 80.56(e)2 says that parking in a Yellow Loading Zone will result in a fine of $45, so it’s best to steer clear, and pay for valet instead.

Parking in a Yellow Zone will result in a $45 fine!

You may have heard otherwise because some people in Los Angeles don’t know how to keep their mouth shut about a good thing.

Now if you were to Google that question, you’d find the answer to your question. But, the problem is the more useful information that your friends and neighbors can’t park in a yellow zone isn’t readily available

How can we make sure that everyone in LA knows you can’t park in a Yellow Zone, leaving all of those sweet sweet yellow zone spots open for… commercial vehicles? Well, share this article, which would make your immediate group of friends aware that parking in a yellow zone would surely get them a fine. And, if it were to be shared enough, it’d show up on the front page of Google, making anyone who ever Googles the phrase, “Can I Park in a Yellow Zone in LA?” gets the unequivocally true answer, no. They cannot.
